This year I decided that I was going to try and loose some weight, because I had gained about 20 lbs since I quit smoking. Well I started running and kind of enjoyed it and I lost 35 lbs. So then I decided that I would like to try to run a marathon.

A few of my friends asked me to run 1/2 a marathon with them but just like when I started to turn pens, If I was going to go in this, I was going to go all the way. I signed up for a full one and today I finished it in 4:59:15 for the 26.2 miles.

Congratulations! I remember my first (and only) marathon back in '86. It seems like just yesterday ... because all the aches and pains from it tuned into arthritis :frown::biggrin::wink:

Thank You for all the comments. I feel the pain today, I am just glad I asked for a few days off from work. I am 42 but I do not feel that young anymore, but I believe I could have done better than that on my time so I think I will try again next year!
