I'm going fishing for 10 glorious days soon. We should target 50-80 pound yellowfin tuna, wahoo and yellowtail. The fishing has been described as epic.

There will be a crew fishing derby during the trip where each of the 16 passengers chip in $20 as a jackpot. This cedar plug will be raffled off and the cash donated to the crew jackpot.

Two tone amboyna burl from Indonesia.

Limits of yellowfin tuna 30-50 pounds. My limit was 15 and after catching 15 I caught 15 more for the galley and other passengers and crew. It was very rough during most of the trip. The boat has two engines and an oil cooler died on one so we limped around until another boat brought us a useful spare. We had a great ALL DAY wide open calico bass day mostly catch and release. The guy with the hair is a famous skipper named Roy Rose. Great guy.

Back in the shop now where I'm happy.

The plug raffle netted $85 for the crew. The winner was very pleased to get it.
