I turned a couple of Canadiana sterling silver/gold ti pens in olive wood and olive root for my son's wedding in a couple of weeks. (That's the olive wood on the left in the first picture.) The Canadiana kit is a nice large set with very nice weight and provides for a great frame around which to show off the grain of the wood. The rolling ball pen writes beautifully as well. They are finished with 8 coats of BLO/CA.
To round out the set I had a box made from wild olive from our wood loving friend George in Adelaide Australia, which he ensured was in the mail in enough time to get here before the wedding. He was kind enough to make the box out of a beautiful piece of wild olive that has been finished to a lustrous sheen. The knots in the top of the box pop out like they are in 3D!
I hope that the newlyweds will love their new pens.
