Hello folks

here is two little hollow forms that I made yesterday, they were cut from the same log.

3" wide 4 1/2" tall

2 3/4" wide by 4" tall

this pic shows the initial shaping of the exterior and also this is the point i stop and hollow out the inside down to around 3/4 depth

this pic shows the form ready to sand

the smaller of the two forms finished and sitting ontop of the lathe

Hi George,

That Olive Ash of yours, always puzzled me, it has various characteristics familiar to me in other woods but not all of those in the same wood, interesting stuff...!

Well, you already know what I think of your work, this piece is no exception...!

What will it be next...?:wink::biggrin:

Cheers
George

Beautiful little vases George! Always great to see some different turnings and you 'Olive Ash wood Vases' certainly are gorgeous!!! Is Olive Ash difficult to turn as it looks really hard? Thanks for sharing and safe turning to you always!
