I downloaded it as the split so I could have windows and linux.. All is great and I love the OS but I can not get online... It is downloaded to my Dell latitude D630. I looked online and all of the tutorials tell me the same thing to do except it is not letting me.. My main question is:

How do I connect (step by step) would be great and also where to find the information needed to be plugged in.

If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated..

Brian; I try not to load multiple OS's on a computer system.

I have the boot drive setup as a removable disk drive and all my data and files are located on separate drives. To switch systems, I shutdown, unplug and swap out the system drive, plug in new system, and power up.

I use FAT32 for all the drives that contain my data and files. Only the OS and applications reside on the boot drive. The boot drive is on a tray. I have two of the tray mounts (incomputer) and about 8 trays. You only need a 30 or 40 GB drive (cheap) to hold the system and apps.

My system unit is a full size tower with 4 full size drive bays exposed.

Actually in this case, the data that I need is which wireless card option you have in it. The dells can come with several models. PM me your service tag and I can tell you if there is any special steps you need to do.

While you're at it, pm me which exact version of ubuntu you did too.

I run ubuntu on my daughters dell mini 9. Wireless can be a little pain the first time, but overall its a great system.

You're probably having trouble with hardware compatibility with your NIC. Look into Linux support for your particular model network interface.

I have Ubuntu on a dual boot HP netbook with Win 7 the other choice. I had no problems getting on line wirelessly. You will probably have to go to one of the Forums either Ubuntu or if Dell has one for your computer to find and answer. I had a ASUS Netbook that I put Ubuntu on and had a problem getting on line wirelessly but did find the answer and can't remember what I did, I think in involved the driver for what ever the wirless card was. Good luck. Can you get on line with a LAN Cable and Ubuntu? Good luck the answer is out there.
