As a Local Chapter Steering committee member, I have had several requests from Ohio members who are interested in starting or reviving their local chapters. We are still gathering data from successful and unsuccessful clubs and will provide, in one place, all the information we gather to assist chapters, when this process is complete.
Until then, why wait! We have a lot of information now, that we can work with on how to run a successful meeting and topics to keep your interest.
If you are in Ohio, or nearby, please post to this thread or PM me if you are interested in attending a local IAP meeting. Also please let me know if you are in North, Central or South Ohio, so I can get a feel for a common location or maybe two!

Remember, if you have your zip code in your profile, directions are here, it will allow us to be more helpful!!

300 are listed!! Nice start, but with 50 states and about 2000 visitors per month, we ought to have a far larger database to assist with these efforts. So, if you have not already, please

Thanks for the replies, I'll give it a few days for others too catch up and then well see what areas we are working with. Please check in and bump this post so it stays on the front page til we get as many as we can.
Please share the local Woodcraft stores locations or any other venues that may work, I am not familiar with the areas.
Also, I will pass along a good (and simple) meeting outline, demo suggestions and topics of interest. It will pretty much take care of itself, just need one person(maybe two if there are multiple meeting places) to follow the outline and the rest to support and make the outline keeper comfortable.

On Monday, I will begin to set up a meeting in Ohio. If you have any requests or suggestions, speak now or forever hold your peace. Well, you can suggest things when you want, but now would be the best time.

Wish I knew how to make letters big, like Ed did above.

Ohio zip map

To those of you who provided zips, THANK YOU! this made things so much easier!!
I am seeing 115 miles from Toledo to Cleveland, 140 miles from Columbus to Cleveland and 144 from Columbus to Toledo. Mansfield seems more central, anybody know of a wood store in that area? Other wise it is a dog fight between Toledo and Cleveland, since it is about the same distance for Columbus to either city.
Perhaps next meeting we can head southwest (or create a NE and SW chapter?).

I'm Willing to drive if anyone in NW Ohio wants to tag along PM me. I'm just south of Toledo Been wanting to find a meeting for some time and have looked at Michigan just never worked out with my Schedule

I think a rotating meeting would have more long term support. Few here will drive to meeting long distance very many times. Perhaps once in Celeveland, once in Columbus once in Cincicnnati, then once in Toledo area. Door prize to the one who travels the longest and the shortest.
