:smile::smile: I have this question out on a few forums but thought what the heck I will post it here and who knows.

I am in the process of doing a window replacement job in my house and eventually a new roof and siding. But this year concentrating on windows. I am looking to do insert replacements on the double hung windows and a new patio door setup and new front Bay window. Never bought windows before so I started the tedious process of getting to know the lay of the land and have a few dealers in to start getting prices. Well I ran into a dealer that sold Sunrise windows and their (Restoration series) looks very good. I listened to the sales pitch and was intrigued. It has a lifetime warrenty on the entire window and doors. Can be passed to new owners when sold. I did some review checking and with all products there will be bad and good reviews.

So my question is has anyone here ever installed Sunrise windows especially the Restoration Series windows and if so thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. :smile:

I have not...however... regardless of what you purchase the installation is everything. An inexpensive window properly installed is better than a high price window poorly installed. Have had a few bad jobs. The things you do not see get compromised. Research your company and their current installer.
As for lifetime warrantees....absolutely worthless. The part is not available. The manufacturer is out of business, The company closed.

The only thing I can say is to stay away from the chain companies like Window World, etc and go with a reputable contractor. You'll save money and get a better product.
 
I grew up in Minnesota, but have lived in Houston most of my adult life. With respect to insulation, the construction practices in MN seem to be quite a bit better than around here, but that makes sense given the climate. While I was growing up my parents built 3 different houses, doing much of the work themselves. My dad has always sworn by Andersen windows. In general I remember them being considered a "premium" product up there. I'd probably start my evaluation with Andersen, but additional costs may not pay off in our climate like they do in MN. I don't have any experience with Sunrise, but figured I'd share what I could...
