Ok, so it turns out i have lost all respect for a Certain Supplier whose Storefront is located in Provo, Ut... I have been a very loyal customer an went in a while back and one of the people eyed one of my Fusion WW Blanks i had made and use as my personal carry pen and they asked about it... I showed them and they though they might even be interested in inquiring some of them. So i go to make a couple and it seems that they found someone else to make them some of Mesquite mans original Worthless wood blanks under the name "Fusion " Blanks... My Name that i had told them i was calling mine...

Guess its ok for them to just step on their customers and use their ideas if they can make an extra buck... If anyone want the link, ill pm it to you cause i dont want to turn anyone against this company but rather express my feelings to some on this forum who might understand...

It's not like we don't all know who it is...I don't understand why we post in riddles when we don't like what some company is doing. We post names when good things happen....when bad things happen what's the difference?

Sorry this has happened to you. You are not the first. CSUSA is not the first and only company to do this. Woodcraft, Rockler and probably most of the others also.

Do a good turn daily!

Im curios as to how long they will last. Usually when we but WW we get to pick the EXACT blank we will be getting. By the looks of it there are only representation blanks.

another misconception by OUR members

I will probably get an earful for this but:

1) Jonathan, they did not steal YOUR idea. It has been around for quite some time, and the dealing with the people who are making them has been in the works for a while as well.

2) Don, none of the suppliers did anything, but start to resell tothe public something that someone else is making for them, They too did not rip anyone off. And the people on here who do make them are not big enough to provide to outside of this community (IAP).

3) And for those of us here who think they are the inventor of this, it has been around for quite some time. Just like bullet pens have as well. A person who works for the company in question was making these prior to 2000. He is going to try and dig up some of his old customers to get a pic or two done on some of the old stule pen kits for me.

And Yes, Johnathan, I did copy and forward your rant to him.

Lupe, having made and looked over a few of these commercially made ones, they probably will last for a while, but they are not of the same caliber as the ones made by the members here. I do give the members here the credit of making quality product, but then again, if they were put into a commercial mode, would they keep that same quality? Probably so, but maybe not when it really becomes a job

Jerry, don't take offense, but I think Jonathan was trying to say that they stole his name "Fusion Blanks". I could be wrong, as I can't read to well being from Kentucky. I'm sure he wasn't implying he came up with the idea, just the name. I traded him some stuff over a year ago and he sent me "Fusion Blanks".

Well how does it feel? I know , it sucks, but they can get them done much cheaper than you would want to make them for, and CSUSA is in business to make money, Try and think how Curtis feels or Barry Gross for that matter and What about Bruce and his circuit board blanks, Man every original Idea put on this board has been copied by one of the big companies, About the only ones that don't or won't get hit are Eagles designs and even a lot of his Ideas have been used and imitated but not by the big players, They couldn't do them and make a profit. it's a crying shame that the folks we buy from have to steal our ideas, I think that's why I quit posting pictures of any thin other than run of the mill kit pens,(not really that's all I make) but if it's cool, if it's pretty, if it can be mass produced they can find a contractor somewhere to do it.

What's Stolen?

While I wouldn't send CSUSA a copy of Jonathon's post (because it's none of my business) as Jerry did, I agree with him that what CSUSA did is not immoral, unethical or illegal.

A name can be registered for your use as trademark, if you register it you gain the right of exclusive use (for the purpose you register it for) and if you don't anyone has every right use it.

On the other issue mentioned in this thread, If you have a pen design or a blank design that you don't want copied - don't post pictures of it in a public forum. By now everyone should be aware that anything put in the public domain can be copied unless specific action is taken to prevent it. That is just the way the world of commerce works and it works that way for everyone, not just pen turners, and not just Americans but worldwide.

This stuff needs to stop. Yes, it is not violating any of the IAP TOS or AUP but this topic has been beaten all ways to heck and back and gets us no where but in huge pi$$ing matches. We all have our own opinions on this subject and I doubt that any of us are going to change each other's mind. Let's stop with these divisive subjects, please.

I am closing this thread based on the "otherwise objectionable" provision of the TOS and AUP. If you have an issue with my action, feel free to contact me via PM.
