Brian,
Prayers and best wishes to you and your doc....and PT folks.
Know that your temporary absence here on IAP will be missed.
You have been and are the "voice of encouragement " for many penturners!
I look forward to seeing your comments/compliments when I catch up on new posts.

Take care!......and know that the IAP force is with you!

Thank you Charlie, for your Extremely Kind Words, and Well Wishes, and for your Acceptance of my small contribution to our Craft.
I will be back as soon as I can get my Mind back into Pen Turning Mode.
Kindest regards,
Brian.

Brian, why so long off the air? It's only operation on your knee not on hands or brain!
I do hope operation will go fine and you soon will be able to use the computer so we can read your heartwarming comments.
Wishing you all the very best.

Thank you Zbigniew, for you Warm remarks, You are correct, it is only a Knee, I am not overly concerned with the Surgery, as much as the Rehabilitation, and the time it is likely to take.
Kindest regards,
Brian.

No lathes at the rehab center? -- how barbaric!

Best wishes for a successful operation, Brian - and a speedy recovery. We will miss you while you are gone & look forward to your return. Your posts of encouragement and wisdom always brighten my day.

You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Edgar
Thank you Edgar, your Remarks and Wishes, are Greatly Appreciated.
Kindest regards,
Brian.

Brian, my friend, you will be in my prayers for a speedy recovery. And there will be prayers for Evelyn. The poor woman - having you around 24 x 7 for weeks on end!

All kidding aside, you will be missed here on IAP. As others have said, your words of encouragement have been a mainstay for many turners.

Does/t Oneway make a sit-down lathe? Perhaps your doctor can write a prescription for one:smile:

Hurry back, my friend.

Thank you John, for your Kind Remarks, Wishes, and "Bright Suggestions", and for Your Sympathy for Evelyn.
I shall pass them all along, in particular, the sit down Oneway, I like, but I won't hold my Breath, I don't look good Red.
Keep up your Good Work,
Kindest regards, to You and Sally.
Brian.

Good luck, Brian !!!! . I am quite sure you will be back here sooner than you think.

We will miss your cheerful visage, warm and complimentary comments, and friendly encouragement until you return.

All the best !!!

Thank you Mal, for your Warm Words, and Best Wishes.
We know we are in good hands while ever your Maple Leaf keeps Waving.
Kindest regards,
Brian.

Thank you Terry, for your prayers, and Best Wishes,
I shall look in as soon as I have the available time, and I am in the right Head Space.

Your presence on this site is so very special Brian! The warmth in your written word is palpable; your encouragement, wit and wisdom have touched the lives of so many on this site whose comments I humbly follow with mine.
Please be patient with yourself, recover quickly and come back to us.. you will be sorely missed my friend. Doc:smile:

Brian

I've known many people who have had knee surgeries and over the past few years it seems as though they are getting better and better what what they do. At the same time they are reducing the recovery time significantly. Although the first few weeks can be frustrating, in short order virtually every person I talk to who has had knee surgery says something like "I wish I had done this sooner." May the Great Physician guide your recovery!

Thank you Steve for your Words of Comfort, Yes they have come a long way in recent years My wife Evelyn, had Both Knees replaced in 2010, and her recovery was fantastic.
I am not worried about the Surgery, it is mainly the inconvenience of Time, and interruption to the things I like and want to do.

Kind regards,
Brian.

Sorry for the late response. You will be the first that I will pray for tonight. I will miss your edifying and uplifting comments. Hurry back!

I wish you the very best of luck and a speedy recovery. I have also been at the mercy of the orthopedic surges. God Bless.

Thanks you Craig, for your Words of Encouragement as a previous participant of the Orthopod's, I presume your Avatar Picture was after the procedure .
Kindest regards,
Brian.

Good luck with the surgery. You will be back here before the week is up. They do not let you lay around or you develop blood clots. You will be up and walking next day. Take some time to get pain to go away but no reason you can not type on a keyboard. Take care and good luck.

Thank you sincerely for your Good Wishes, and sound advice, John.
The only thing that will keep me away, is the Rehab Regime that I will be subjected too, and the amount of Time that will require.
At this stage I do not know how long I will be in Rehab, and to be honest I don't think they do either.
It is possible a "Horses for Courses" situation.
In any case I will soon find out.

Kind regards,
Brian.

Thank you Doc, for your Gentle Words of Wisdom, and your Kind Remarks.
Rest assured, I appreciate the Skill of the Medical Team and the MacQuarie University Hospital, where the Surgery will be performed, and also The Rehabilitation Hospital where I shall be put through a "Patients Boot Camp".
Like everything in Life "you get out of it what you put into it."
So I expect to come home in fine condition, then to undertake the "Out Patient" portion of the Programme.
I suppose that people will think I am strange "Taking Advice from a Wizard"
Kindest sincere regards,
Brian.

Brian I wish you a speedy recovery. With you being a proper Aussie, I would expect you to have nothing but the Vicmarc sit down lathe. ;)

Thank you for your Kind Wishes, Pete.
Sorry, but please don't tell anyone, I have an Old Nova Technatool, TL1500.
That of Course is a Kiwi, our Geographical, closest competitors in Most Sporting Events and Hence our Fiercest Foe. (but a darn good lathe).
Certainly no Sit Down, though I do have an old Bar stool, that can come in handy, when Sanding etc.
Kindest regards,
Brian.
