Any opinions on either on of these chucks? I haven't heard many opinions on either one of these. I've heard good things about the PSI Barracuda; the Mini Grip appears to be a slightly scaled down version of this. Does anyone know if there is a screw chuck accessory to fit the Mini Grip?

I'm looking at chucks to do small boxes & bowls on a mini lathe.

I don't have the PSI mini but I do have the Barracuda. Looking at the specs for the mini I think you will quickly outgrow it's capacity. I don't see any screw chuck for it on the PSI site and it can't take their larger cole jaws. I have a jet mini lathe and the Barracuda works just fine on it. Spend a little extra now and get the Barracuda, either the 2000 model or the 3000 model, you'll save more in the long run.

I have the original Nova, which has been replaced by the Midi. The Nova is a terrific chuck, comes with the screw accessory, and takes all of the Teknatool jaws. It's a tough act to beat without spending a lot more money, so if I were in the market today, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Midi.
