Nova DVR tool slide Advice

Can anyone give advice on how to tighten up the handle to lock the tool slide? When i tighten it up the handle is very low down so i am unable to fully tighten it up. If i try and tighten the Allen key under the slide the handle will lift , but the slide is very difficult to move along the bed ...

I have the same problem on my 1624-44, I never worried about until now.
Maybe the handle is on a spline, dont know as it is still dark over here. I will have to go and have a look later.

There is a allen screw underneath the banjo. Tighten that up to solve the issue. Mine works loose quite often.

Duh. Sorry. I didn't read far enough before answering. There is a happy medium where you can tighten the allen screw and still slide the banjo.

I would put a little lock tight, not permanent, on the allen screw and this will help stop it from vibrating loose.
