This is a PSI Nouveau Sceptre twist pen, in chrome and gold. The blank is an inlace acrylester from Woodturningz called Abalone. Very, very pretty blank. Made a great looking pen.

The blank looked opaque to me, and it is. I didn't paint the blank or color the epoxy.

I've learned recently...if its resin, paint. Even those that look completely opaque, there is still transparency at a scale your eyes cannot resolve. Even with solid color dyes in the resin, that is still translucent to a degree, and pigments at a microscopic scale have plenty of "clear" resin between the pigment particles.

If there is any question at all about translucency, I will paint. But I can't see any at all in this finished blank.
