Got my grip section made, using a 5mm Bock triple feed from classic nib. Inserted the feed sys into the section, engaged the threads till they were snug. All looked good. Now I can't get the feed housing out of the section. The threaded part (housing?) remains in the section but the feed pulls out and will no longer engage with the housing. Any idea what I have done?

Thanks for the help -

I think the housing has just been screwed in too tight. I insert the feed and nib back into the housing as hard as I can and unscrew the housing using the "puchase" the feed and nib give me on the housing. If that won't do, you'll have to jam something else in the housing.

If the threads on the section/housing join are too tight to allow the housing to fully screw into the section, chase them with the tap -carefully.

I think I did not drill deep enough for the smooth portion of the housing to fit before the threads engage, so I applied a little to much pressure in an attempt to get the housing to seat completely. Need to remake the section 1) a little longer (.050) and 2) drill a little deeper for the smooth portion of the housing to fit.
Does any of that make sense?

Thanks

Also with these #5 Bock feeds, there is no tab that locks the feed into the feed housing like on the #6 feeds, so if they are to tight the feed will come out without the housing. As said above, you will have to push in hard while rotating it to get it unstuck. You have to make sure that the threads in the section are nice and smooth and not tight or the housing will bind in there and be difficult to get out.

Thanks Justin and Robert for the help - I was afraid I broke the tab - good to know the #5 didn't have one (can you tell I'm new to component-less). I used the #2 bit (.221) - when I remake the section I'll make sure the threads are good & smooth.
