I had one kit, RZ265 Samsara from penkitsmall and did what i could to make a difficult segmented blank for it.
The wenge middlepiece had a gap inside the wood that was not visible from the outside,
Glued and sanded pieces that i was adding, drilled very carefully.
Once on the lathe very light cuts, 3200 rpm. Then it blew apart on the gap. Tried to glue all together again but it was not possible..
Cleaned the tube and made this one with a nice grain. CA finish. And happy with it.

Segmenting can be rewarding at times and frustrating at other times. But that is what makes it fun and challenging. The more you do the more tricks you learn and the dos and donts become more clear but even then do everything right and still have a blow up. I am going through this right now with a blank. But I am determined to succeed and will figure a way out of this. Nice save on the kit.
