Irish Elm Burl modified slimline with the clip on the nib end and beaded centerband on the finial. I like the finial treatment, but still am not sure about the nib/clip even though the idea is to keep the ink out of your pocket.

On the one piece slims, the nib twists.

The Upper tube is the only one glued in. The tranny and nib are pressed into the lower tube then the whole assembly is inserted into the pen and the tranny is engaged by the upper tube.

Very nice group, I like the modified slim one piece idea. I haven't seen that before. The clip on the nib, looks out of place but the idea of keeping the ink out of the pocket sounds good, I am not sure if the clip would be in your way to write.
The redwood burl is quite a handsome blank. No CB gives it a natural look, and the grain continues well.

Very nice all of them i like the Irish elm the best but not to sure if i would like the clip on the nib. why don't you send it to me and i'll test it out for you[:p][:p]:D

Mike, Good work on the experimenting. I like that single piece of BOW, I may have to do some similar experimenting. Something else to add to my long list.

The clip near the nib thing reminds me of my Pilot/Namiki Vanishing Point. On the VP the clip near the nib is no bother to me.
