I was finishing a pen this morning and noticed a low spot (groove) running at a diagonal. Not all around the circumference as a tool mark. This was after turning and applying MM. I'm wondering if there was a void in the material,. Guessing it is poly resin as that is what most blanks are labeled. I have several from the bargain basket at Woodcraft that aren't marked. This is the first one that had this problem. Hoping I can disassemble the lower part and polish out the groove. Your thoughts?
