but its beautiful anyways:

PERFECT sanding, you can see the grain on the bowl/cup.
Gave it some woodturner's oil, then buffed it in a french wax.

Had to shove a glove over my thumb hurt like cr@p and I was turning with my fingers as if I was playing pool.

Yup, its macassar ebony and paduak

Basically used the paduak to hold two small blocks of ebony together, was gonna make a lid, but decided I liked looking at the rim of it.
Its sanded amazingly
