Here is my latest attempt at doing these Maglites. This is an acrylic blank from Ernie at Beartooth sanded to 12000 micro-mesh. The blank was 3/4" and when I got done drilling the wall thickness was 0.040 to 0.045 thick. Then you turn it down to about half that thickness after it is glued on the flashlight barrel. Thank goodness for sharp drill bits and tools and lots of PATIENCE, LOL. Anyway it was fun.

Thanks for looking,
Larry

PS Sorry for the photo quality---I really suck at taking pictures!!

My wife is always upset when I take her maglight...maybe I should make her one like yours, but do it in pink:biggrin:.....you've given me an idea.

Cool idea.

Thanks for all the compliments. Sure boosts my confidence. Denny, they have hot pink Maglites at Walmart. They would look real pretty with a nice wood barrel. If you use acrylic, it will have to be back painted since it is only about 0.020 thick.
