I'm not sure how many people really have followed my progression since I started cutting quarters or better yet, before I started cutting them. It was 2 years ago this month that I started tinkering with the idea of creating a pen with a birth year set of coins. Of course, the quarter was the first coin for me to try and the rest is history. Anyway, I thought it was funny and a bit ironic that here I was, cutting out the quarter that my first Tru-quarter pen two years ago. So here it is, and I will say, to anyone thinking it, the suns rays are a pain, and a little wavy, but whatever. LOL How you all enjoy looking. I've got a really great idea up my sleeve for the bash, can't wait!

Very nice. I grew up in North Dakota, the western end 8 miles from the Montana border. We had buffalo around us all over at the Teddy Roosevelt National park.

Seamus, you never cease to amaze me. You must have the patients of Jobe and the skill of a craftsman. Beautiful work.

that must have been a sight to see, the only buffalo around this area is up in Lawton, OK at the wildlife refuge in the Wichita Mountains:rolleyes:

thanks! its far from how i wanted it to turn out, but the sun alone took around 45 minutes:redface:, mostly with the scroll saw off. Keep in mind that i worked a 12 hour day, man im whooped. Back to work already?! seems like i just went to bed. Might have to take a break tonight.

Mmmm, I wonder who you cut the North Dakota quarter for? Awesome job!
Yeppers! thanks for the compliment!

Aww, you know how it is, being from South Dakota, I have to give you guys crap for being from North Dakota and vice versa. We can't help it. Its ingrained in us Dakotans to give each other grief. I'm sure it all stems from the Great Dakotan War where North Dakotans threw grenades and dyamite and South Dakotans pulled the pins, lit the fuses and threw it back.

PRICELESS!

Woah! Those are awesome! How did you do it? Just cut them on a scrollsaw? Aside from turning, I love to collect coins and this is probably the best combination of the two you can get!!:biggrin:

Ha Ha not bad! Well, you know it's windy in North Dakota. They say when North Dakota blows, South Dakota sucks.

Q. Why do they sell so many button-fly jeans in South Dakota?
A. Because the sheep can hear the zippers a mile away.

All kidding aside, South Dakota is beautiful. I went through the Black Hills and Rushmore for my Honeymoon.
