Normal stopper blank size?

I've seen a few that are 1.5" by however tall. An inch and a half seems a little small. Is that normal?

I use anywhere from 1" to 2" with most in the 1.5" range.

i like the blanks about 2" square and about 2.5 long.

Skye, the ones I bought from BB are 1.5" square by 2.25" to 3" long.

I hear you and I used to think the same thing. The wierd thing about the bottle stoppers is smaller looks a lot better. My first 10 or so I made entirely to big. Then I had a catch and had to take down a lot more material than normal and I liked the way it looked much better.

I like to start with 1 1/2" square and 2"+ tall, although I'll certainly do smaller stoppers some times

The average size of most that I see for sale are roughly 1-1/2" sq by 2" long. However, there is a lot of waste in that size, IMO.
