Okay, so here's a quiz. I needed a daily "abuser", so I decided to quickly make myself a European since they hold up pretty well and I won't cry if I lose it or snap it in half while sitting in a 3 hour meeting that could have been over in 35 minutes.
Anyway, I didn't want to use any of my higher-end blanks, so I used this one that I got in a trade here on IAP. I had never seen a blank that came to be like this, however I have seen others work with this type of wood before. The wood is almost grey with a hint of red (one of the pictures kinda shows the red).
Anyone figure out what it is and how it came to be like this (the color)?
Here's a hint . . . Norm Abrams would be proud!
