Just had cataract surgery on my left eye on Monday. WOW, what a difference! Surgery on the right eye is scheduled for Dec 10 and I can't wait to have it. Down side is I have to remain out of dusty environments and take prescription eyedrops for at least a month.
BTW I had the Toric lense implanted. Not covered by insurance but well worth the out of pocket expense. Now I'll be able to see what I've been selling.

It is amazing what a difference it makes. I have several patients who were basically blind and can now see. Life changing
Congratulations on your new vision.
 
My grandparents both had the surgery in the past year. My grandma was a little nervous to do it so my grandfather went first. He was so happy with not just how much clearer everything was, but also how much more vivid the colors became. That helped talk my grandmother into it.
 
Last Memorial Day I took a Racquetball to the eye. Thought I would lose sight completely, but it is slowly coming back. The injury caused cataracts to start growing in that eye so even though the sight is mostly back, it is cloudy now. They say it could be 5 months or 5 years before I lose sight completely. I would be happy to sit out of the shop to gain full sight in the eye again. Make sure you do what the doctor orders!

LOML had cataract surgery in both eyes about a year and half or so back... before the surgery everything was in a cloudy haze to her, headlights had a starburst around them, so she couldn't drive and when she was co-piloting, if a car's brake lights came on a mile down the road she couldn't gauge how far... she would always warn me that he was stopping.. :biggrin: after the surgery she was amazed at how bright the world was. She'd worn glasses from the age of 6 and suddenly at the age of 65+ she could see perfectly without glasses.... 'course now after some time has passed, she does need reading glasses for up close, but distance vision is great... I can now get up to withing 100 yards of a vehicle before she starts braking on her side of the car.... :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

She went through the same thing with keeping out of dusty environment and using the different drops for a month or so.
