No MDF??

I went to the Home Depot and Lowes for a piece of MDF shelving. Neither one had any small pieces of MDF. I don't want to buy a full 4x8 sheet. I use it for fixtures, high saw fences, and the like, but no soap.

I need to replace my honing wheel and wanted to cut out the wheel shapes.

They have it at both the stores around me - ply, mdf, hardboard. I think they call them 'project panels,. They might not be right with the big ply though - cant remember.

If your local high school has a woodshop, call them. Offer to make a small donation to their class.

Damn stuff doesnt burn though..... and yes i know it has chemicals in it which shouldnt be burned anyway. but still, have a pile of it i would have gladly torched on bonfire night to get rid!

I didn't realize you were that close to me. I can look to see if I have any small pieces stored away if you can't find any.

I don't know about the PA stores, but at the local box stores here they will sell half sheets of panels... both plywood and MDF.... they do charge a smidge more for the cut sheets though.

If you get desperate, I have an mdf shelf (2'x4'?) that you can have but it's pretty thin - little shy of 1/2". Not too far from roundtop.
