have you thought about building one?

not even a little bit.

but i did fix it, the problem is not solved but its working, was able to finish a pen i was working on, but in my search i got a lead on a couple lathes for sale down the street from me at a wood shop. the giant school shop kind. so i might look into those this week.

can't you get one via Axminster?

Beware of delta's, they are still working the bugs out of their customer service since being bought out. Plus I have heard of issues pertaining to the threads on the quill getting stripped.

General International has an okay lathe, overpriced for what I got but that maybe it was shipped into the US. model 25-114QC It has reverse, 14" swing 3/4hp motor... If you want one, find one make sure the speed indicator works and that the set screws in the spindle pulley are there. DAMHIK.
It will serve you well until you can make a trip into the US and get a Jet.

The 46-460 is a great machine. Have had mine for 2+ years with zero problems. The reverse feature is great. Plenty of power as well. Ihave heard of no problems as mentioned above.

Hi Marc; You didn't make mention of the amount of your windfall; Oneway's 1224, Canadian made etc. has been a dream for me to turn with!

You would be more than welcome to come for a visit and try it out. You are less than an hour away from Brooklin.

thanks, that is a generous offer, i just found oneway yesterday in my search and have since emailed them, was hoping they did a smaller lathe then what i've seen, they are definitely on my radar though.

(just looked again, looks a lot bigger than i thought. will do more research today)

Delta 46-460. Be careful. Mine has been in the shop since November. It needs a new motor. Delta customer service (an oxymoron) has no date as to when it will be available or if. The warranty is worthless if they won't send parts. In my opinion Delta is out of business. Duane
