A question has been asked if we can post older work we have done here. Yes absolutely the idea is to get as many segmented pens displayed as possible without cluttering up with comments. It will be a beautiful collection from many people with differing tastes and skills. We already know they are all beautiful, we don't necessarily have to comment about them just "Like" them. Here as one of my favorite posts from a few weeks ago. I suppose if you really need to comment about another pen do it when you post your pen but keep them brief.

Here is the second ever successful of mine. I'll try and dig up the first. Green maple or box elder burl, ebony, and malachite on a black enamel bolt action.

This pen was created by a close friend of mine, Rainey Horne with Van Horne Pens, and I wanted to pass it along. It is a Marksman Eagle fountain pen with custom filigree work. The blank is segmented and consists of multiple materials such as ostrich egg, aluminum bands and one or two others.

Here's one I did for my 1st PITH. It's birdseye maple, bloodwood, and ebony with brass. I really learned a lot making this pen. I learned how hard it is to find small pieces on a dirty shop floor.

But with a little perseverance I finally got it to hold together.

Not the best picture but all I can find at the moment. It's 96 pieces of dyed veneer inserted in the order of the color wheel. It required 32 cuts inserting 3 pieces it a time. Had to make a jig with stops 8 different places along the length of the blank. Rotated 90 degrees at each stop,made the cut, inserted veneer and so on and on.
