Nikon D40 DSLR kit with two zoom lenses and LOTS of extras.

For everything listed and shown in the photo with everything I'm asking $275 USD and will ship it anywhere in the US for no additional charge.

A higher quality image of everything can be seen here: Start Set and more | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I purchased this camera used a couple years ago and have now upgraded to an intermediate level model. Virtually all photos I've posted to IAP in the past two years have been taken with this camera at only the 3 megapixel level. They look great and yet the camera is capable of twice that resolution with its 6.1megapixel rating.

Included in this offering is:

  • Nikon D40 body (with body cap, eye piece protector, hot shoe protector)
  • Nikon Battery
  • Nikon Battery charger & power cord
  • Nikon AF-S 18-55mm kit lens (with front and rear lens caps)
  • Nikon AF-S VR 55-200mm kit lens (with both lens caps, bag, and lens hood)
  • Original Quick start guide and Manual
  • Original Nikon software CD
  • Original Neck Strap, never used
  • Original D40 kit box
  • Nikon School DVD – Understanding Digital Photography
  • Nikon School DVD – Fast, Fun & Easy Great Digital Pictures
  • Nikon D40 Digital Field Guide by David Bush
  • Digital Concepts Super Wide Angle and macro screw-on lens adapter
  • Digital Concepts Close up Lens Set (never used) with 4 lenses.
  • Kingston 1GB SD card
  • Targus tripod with detachable camera mount and carry case (not pictured).
Based on EXIF data from 2/22/2013 the camera has 11325 shutter actuations, so it still has a lot of life left in it.

This kit is perfect for someone who wants to step up to a DSLR without investing a lot of money in a new camera and accessories. Provided is everything needed to go out and start taking photos of your own.

Cosmetic disclosure:

  • Rubber grip area shows some wear, but doesn't affect operation.
  • LCD screen has some scratches from original owner but doesn't affect operation.
  • The two items above are shown in the attached photos.
  • There's a few dust specks visible through the viewfinder, but they have no affect on the picture.
  • Also, when taking outside photos, I've noticed a small fuzzy hairline spot on some images in the upper left area of the photo (does not show on the gray background of my photo tent images).
  • The last two items can probably be fixed with a professional cleaning, but I'll leave that to the new owner should it concern him or her.

Steve, I was PM'd with a commitment to purchase about an hour before you. If it falls through, your next in line and I'll PM you.
Thanks

Joe,
I got a used Nikon D80 with a Tamron 18-200 lens. It's got a lot of new features to figure out, I was at least able to take those pictures with it and not be compelled to pull any hair out.

I wanted to go to a D90, but at almost twice the price (used) the couple extra megapixels and movie capabilities weren't enough to justify that extra step up.

In case anyone was looking for something better than their current point-and-click, eBay has new Canon T4i's (body and lens) on sale for $550... I paid $900 for my T2i and lens back in late 2010, so that's a sweet deal.
