I have been making quite a few fountain pens from the same batch of purple dyed and stabilised Maple Burr blanks in the last couple of weeks. They all come from the same supplier and most of them look very similar in tone and level of figure. However this particular blank really stood out. It has much more detail and the dye has taken to the wood in a different way to the rest. I haven't seen anything quite like this before and it almost looks like paisley. It's really very striking.

Anyway I thought I'd share it just because it looks a bit different.

Cheers
Ash

Quite unique piece of wood for sure, well done matching with the purple finials, and as usual your accent rings bring a sense of perfect balance to the pen.
