I have been getting some private messages about this years event, so want to keep everyone informed. Have many of you noticed that the AAW is having a major shakeup with the liability insurance coverage for Local Chapter sponsored events? Well, it boils down to our club not having any liability insurance coverage for non AAW members. It was a condition of use for the union hall last year. So any ideas or suggestions?
I plan to contact some independent insurance agencies, and look into a policy for 2 days. That will mean the event will no longer be free. I'm also going to contact the guys at the Champaign Carpenter's Hall and see what they did, or possibly move it back there. Any other ideas or input? Anyone ever gotten coverage like that? If so, what company did you use? The Mid Atlantic guys are meeting at a Woodcraft, and the event will be covered under the Woodcraft franchise owners liability policy.
In conclusion, MPG 2013 is still on, but it just means some more organizational work and please be open to some possible changes. When I get answers, I'll let everyone know. Please share any info and ideas you might have. Thanks, Rich
