Howdy folks. I'm the latest newbie to join the IAP. I had bookmarked this site quite some time ago and would periodically take a look, but it wasn't until recently that I joined. I've been an avid woodworker for most of my life. Also, I've been an active pen maker for many years and have made hundreds of pens over the years. A few ended up as gifts to kids, friends and relatives. Then word of mouth referrals started to kick in and now I can't make them fast enough before they are sold ( a good problem to have methinks). So, it just seemed like a good time to join IAP.
I am a physicist and electrical engineer by profession and I plan to retire in the near future (like this summer). Currently my wife and I live in Maryland but we have our retirement home in Florida, so that's where we'll end up. Penmaking will be an almost fulltime activity for me once I retire so hopefully I'll be able to fulfill my potential as a true pen nut. Good luck to all.
