CABG - pronounced cabbage. It is a coronary artery bypas and graft. I had four on Monday. Quite amazing that I actually have no real pain except for sneezes and coughing. I am in awe that we can do these procedures routinely and in my case so far perfectly.

Sorry about the grizzly photos.

Day two

I am being released today Thursday. After some rest I'll get back to pens very, very carefully at first. My surgeon will get my best pen for sure.

Thanks folks - really.

I feel quite lucky not to have had a 991 heart attack.

Can't wait to turn, does that mean I'm hooked?

Congratulations Mark, a lot of people don't survive the lead up to this. I had a CABG 17 years ago. Do the rehab and don't rush your recovery. Also, be sure to take the pillow with you in the car. An early sudden stop in the car is not pleasant. DNAHIKT!

The worst part for me was when they removed the chest tube. The surgeon yanked on it and ran for the door. He said he had been punched a couple of times by anger patients.

Good Health!

Glad to hear and see your doing well, Mark. Here's to a speedy recovery. And by the way, you're now a member in good standing of the zipper club. To be a member you need to promise on those hot California days to walk around the shopping mall with your shirt unbuttoned to your naval. And you can't wear a T-shirt. Be proud of your zipper.

Feeling MUCH BETTER

Thanks for your wishes for my wellness.

It has been a rough road to get here but today I'll walk to my shop to put away a couple of newly purchased items. Soon I will try to turn a tube or two just to be functional. Still limited on weight lifting and I'm adhering to doctor's orders.

Photo shows the road to the shop and the latest me outside -a rare treat.

My wife of almost 46 years has been amazing. Thanks Barbie
