Hello, Ive been validated today so I can post now! Thanks for all the info many of you have posted, I Just bought a Jet 1220 lathe and love it, here are the first few pens! ( easier to make because of the info on this site!) My first and second pen are slimlines from Zebra and Bania. Last two are Cigar pens from Black Palm and Bocote. Made one from Cedar as well but the bushings were reversed. Think Im hooked!

All pens have a BLO and CA Finish, seemed like a popular finish and easy to apply!

Hi Tim. Welcome!
Those are nice looking pens. Yup. I'd say you're hooked.

Below are links to two threads/articles that have lots of information on pen turning. The first one is a very basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens.
http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42446

The second link has postings by different pen turners and what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link - a PDF on the acronyms used here. I am sure you know many but this will help with those you don't.
