I know you'll enjoy it. I'm just getting getting back to learning how to use mine. I won't post a picture of the results from tonight but either listen carefully or make good use of the laser attachment!DAMHIKT

For thin wall hollowing, Forget the laser and use a 12 volt light bulb right on the cutting tip.

I have this tool. I love it tremendously and use it often. I have already sold several of the pieces I used it on. Make sure the laser is attached securely. Mine broke off and I had to replace the tip. N problem though. Set the laser to be slightly ahead of the tip so that the beam falls off when you get to the thickness you want. I have gotten it down to 1/16" with no problem. Slow and easy.

The icon under my name is the first piece and is 1/8" thick walls with a 11/2" base. It is redwood burl and stands at 11" tall and 6" wide. Opening is 1".

Enjoy the new tool.

Very nice! I am not yet at the stage where I feel I am far enough along in turning to where I need this yet, I havnt done any HV yet, but I have been looking at them and planning for the future when I will need one. Could someone give me at least a "rough" idea of how much these mini monsters go for, thanks for any info you could give me, Tim
