New tool post

Got the Acupro chuck in the mail today for my Delta drill press. As a test I drilled out some stainless and tapped it - spun down 1/2" rod to a little under 12mm on my Taig and put 12mm threads on it - made a smaller tool rest for when I'm working on smaller pieces. My current ones can't get as close as they touch the centers.

It's not @rherrell quality but it will work.

Ha - it's true - and thanks!! They are pretty straightforward. But I'll bet yours aren't a few thou out of square like mine is

I only ever need one. Not the 5 to 10 'practice' runs* I'd have to do to get just that one right. Queue the old 'knowing which screw to tighten' story.

My thought was, if I can't get this thing close to right, I shouldn't be thinking about kit-less pens

Took it for a spin today - it worked really well. Thanks like the round shape more than the stock rests. I'll have a pen post tomorrow.
