Hello to everyone!

I wanted to make my first post a thank you to all of you. I have enjoyed this site for a while now. You folks are a wealth of good information.

As for me, I have been turning pens for about a year and a half. I enjoy turning acrylics and have turned my first celtic knot with four rings (walnut with cherry rings).

Thanks again for all the insight.

John

Here is a picture of the last one completed. Sorry for the quality, I have not done much photography and this is with my I-phone.

Welcome John! That's nice work there. Looking forward to seeing more.

Below are links to two threads/articles that have lots of information on pen turning. The first one is a very basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens.

The second link has postings by different pen turners and what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link - a PDF on the acronyms used here. I am sure you know many but this will help with those you don't.

Welcome John. Enjoy the madness here. I have to give you a warning - Lots of people join IAP after having made pens for a while - only to find out that we know all KINDS of ways to help you spend money in "improving" the tool acquisitions for pen turning!   And we even help with turning pens some!

Post some picts of your work!
