Cav gave you the best place to start looking for info on casting , the IAP library is a great place to learn about penturning , as for the "cooker" you are asking about I think you mean a "pressure pot" which is used for helping to eliminate air bubbles from your castings .
Some people have used a "pressure cooker" to cast but that is very dangerous and should NOT be used , the pressure pots are made to handle up to 80 psi (I cast at 40 psi) and can safely take the pressure where a pressure cooker could burst .
"Pressure pots" (or paint pots) can be purchased from Harbor Freight for about $40.00 when on sale , and there is a very good tutorial in the library on how to modify it to do pressure and vacuum .
