I have made two so far the first one I thought I may of started to crush the threads, because when I post it it will some times try to start crocked. I made sure I did not on the 2nd one and it seams to once in a while. I am getting ready to order a 100 of the Brite copper RB & 100 chrome RB, if they are having a problem then I will wait.

I've made several (Sedonas) so far and have not had any problems. Maybe you're putting too much pressure when you're pressing the threads into the barrel. Once it stops don't press it in any further because you can crush the threads and make it impossible to thread the cap or finial in straight.

I've made quite a few Barons and have never had a problem with the threads on any of them. I consider the Baron about as fail-safe as they come.
