I just saw the Woodcraft email which shows a new lathe from Powermatic! It is a 2014 ....14" swing and 20" between centers. It is a scaled down version of the popular PM 3520 models.
The specs show an adjustable height stand, 115v - 1 HP Motor, 1 1/4X8 spindle with #2 Morse tapers. The shipping weight listed is 277 lbs so a little less for actual weight.
15% off right now so this could be a great upgrade for some in the mini-midi lathe group.

This new Powermatic lathe has caught my attention also. Obviously capable for penturning, but some other features are noteworthy if considering medium-to-medium large bowl turning. One is the 110v/1 HP motor. It is actually a 230 volt/3 phase motor with internal inverter, which allows it to plug into a 110v circuit. As I understand the design, this yields a major improvement in torque capability at the full range of turning speeds. That suggests it is a really strong 1 Hp motor. Another feature is the bed extension/outboard turning option allows for 20 inch swing over the extension bed. Now I would not be wanting to throw a 20 inch log on it with the plans for a deep, large bowl. But I could envision a 20 inch platter. The three range variable speed setup allows for super low 15 rpm speed at the bottom end. I am not committed to a buy just yet, but am looking...🤔
