New member needs help uploading images etc!!

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right place to be, but I thought I would give it a go. I have been looking at this site for quite a while and finally decided to take the plunge and begin turning. I was given a lathe last year, and have been turning like made ever since. I've recently started making pens, and have just sold my first. I would like to post photos on this site to get some feedback, but haven't found out how to do this yet. Can anyone advise?

Welcome, John.

There are (at least) a couple of ways to upload pictures. You can upload to your album by:

• Select "Photos" from the top row of buttons on most pages
• Select "Upload: from the "Photos" window that shows up about the third window down on the screen
• Select "Member Photo Albums" from the dropdown in the "Uploads" window and hit "continue"
• Then browse for the file you want to upload, fill in a title and description, and hit the "Upload" button at the bottom of the screen.

To include one of these photos in a posting, click the "[Images]" link on the right of the screen and select the image you want.

Alternatively, while editing a post in "advanced" mode, you can click the attachments (paperclip) icon at the top of the editor and select a picture to include.

I upload mine to www.photobucket.com first and then copy them over to here. It works fairly well for me.
