Just wanted to stop by and say "Hello." I have turned a couple of pens on an old Craftsman lathe that I've had for some time but have used very little. I have a cheap (in more ways than one) set of lathe tools that I was never able to get all that sharp, but I've recently bought a couple of carbide tipped tools that make a world of difference. The two pens I've turned are both of the "Wall Street II," "Great Gatsby" variety. I'm pretty well satisfied with the turnings, but I'm still working for the kind of finish I would like to have. I'm thinking about some Christmas gifts for family this year if I can get the bugs worked out. Looking forward to being a part of this community.
