Got a new Jet Wet Sharpener on Wednesday. Plugged it in today and used it about 10 minutes and it went dead. Worked on high speed, but that was it. Called Jet and they had me take everything apart and check the wiring. After no loose connections and the motor turning fine without the stropping wheel attached it was determined the circuit board crapped out on it. Needless to say the technical support was great, but I am still disappointed. He said they have had a problem with weak circuit boards on them and are sending me a new board. Now I have to hook my wolverine system back up so I can make some graduation gifts and 2 pens for a guy that ordered them.

Is it just me or is everyone getting tired of the worthless crap that the Chinese are pushing on us.
I recently bought a new cordless drill from Sears....Craftsmen brand (which used to mean something). The keyless chuck slips while using and the batteries don't last any time between charging. I took it back to the store where they told me that there were some problems with this model and gave me a brand new replacement. Now 2 weeks later, it has the same troubles as the first. I guess I could continue to get new ones every week but I'm just gonna chuck that one and try to find something not made in China.
Who else is upset with this Chinese crap?

If you don't like chinese junk, buy non-chinese tools...only way around it...

Unless you're willing to look for a locally-produced and manufactured tool, you're going to find that there's quite a bit of crap out there...and it's our own fault for allowing it to saturate the marketplace..

It's also my fault...I buy them! But then again, I can't afford non-chinese crap...

:D

The tools from China are (in most cases) made to specs given them by the U.S. importers. True, some are straight importers. (HF and some no-name stores) But name brand companies should perform quality control before shipping to the retail market. I believe you are the second in the past week or so to complain about this model Jet sharpener. Face it, we are unlikely to ever bring back manufacturing to the U.S.
