How about a Jeff Brown look alike contest?

(Of course I'm not under the illusion that I am as handsome as our fearless leader bit "I am wut I iz")

Your right brother, Hair is so overrated and it feels very liberating to get rid of it!



OK, now for the explanation:

My good friends wife has breast cancer and is going through Chemo. A month or so ago she was feeling rather down and was crying because she said that she felt "Ugly". My friend had already shaved his head when she first started chemo so I told her that she could shave my head and we'll all be "ugly" together.

Well, it had the desired effect. She bounded up to get the clippers and spent more than an hour giving me different types of hairstyles until she got down to the scalp. We all had a real good laugh and now she smiles from ear to ear every time she see's me. Now that I went and did it I found that I like and and decided that I'm going to keep it for a while.

C'mon guys; anybody want to have a contest? If it catches on I'll come up with something to give as a prize. So here it is folks, My entry!

(Please excuse the goofy look as I had partaken in one too many Gin n' Tonics when the picture was shot.)

My chrome dome is the result of a similar story. My niece had leukemia in 2003 and I shaved my head when she lost her hair. I had a full head of hair at the time, but now I'm sure I'd have a big shiny spot if I let it grow. One funny thing is that people say "oh you must save a lot on haircuts". Do you know how much good razor blades cost???

In all seriousness though, that is a good thing you guys did, helping friends and family though the tough times.

Well, I'm not sure but I think I get rid of more hair when I trim my eyebrows than when my hair is cut---can I join anyway?:redface::tongue::smile::wink:

Not as much as a trip to the 'hair removal salon" or whatever they're calling barbershops these days. I actually wear them out on my face not my head.
 
I did this a few years ago for a friend and stayed totally bald until her hair grew back, about 6 months. Got lots of comments from people. Then I let it grow for 3 years and cut it off and gave it to Locks for Love, which makes wigs for children with cancer.
 
Thanks for the Burma Shave moment. I used to love those small signs by the side of the highways -- when I was too young to use the product :biggrin:. Beats the ginormous billboards blocking the views.

Can I ask, what in heavens kingdome is the significance of "ZipIt"
 
Now Way!! I did it with my daughter when she had cancer '96 but kept it for mine in '11...kind of a symbol for our family now. But yeah...proudly did it and have the T-shirt!
