Me too. had mine about 4 years and have never had a problem. Thinking about getting another so when I make bowls I don't have to change the flat jaws.

I use that same chuck every day! It works great. I use the chuck to hold my pen blanks when drilling with the lathe. They have a set of jaws for it, made to hold your pen blanks. Great little chuck. I've been using it for nearly 2 years now & no issues with it.

Sorry, the setup was just too good!

I have that chuck as well, love it - recommend getting the pen jaws for it, for drilling on the lathe. I also use for small bowls, etc., and may get another one or two to set up with various jaws - the unit is economical enough to have a few.

I have one and like it well enough, but I don't think I'd buy another one.

I don't care for the smaller set of jaws, at least not for anything that needs to be held accurately from the start. Once upon a time I tried to chuck up a piece of 3/4 dowel for use as a jamb-chuck. At 3" off of the end of the jaws, the dowel was about 1/8" off center no matter what I did. The same piece of dowel in a collet chuck (purchased due to the aforementioned issue) was almost dead on center.

The larger set of jaws work well enough for holding bottle stopper or pipe blanks. I've yet to try bowls or anything larger.

In the end, it's served me well enough, and I'm not going to get rid of it, but I sort of wish I had spent a few more bucks and picked up a Nova G3. If I need to buy another chuck, it'll be a step or two above this one.
