New Casting & Stabilizing Work Bench

My old casting and stabilizing cart (Old System) served me well at the big, open shop near Indy. But in my present location the shop was built in the late 1800's, early 1900's and mid 1900's. As such, it doesn't afford big open space to work a cart setup on all 4 sides.

This week, while waiting to pick up my wife at the local clinic. Workers began carting out two sets of cabinets with tops and an 8' shelf. As I watched, they asked if I wanted them as they were told throw them away.

The first set has been installed in what is becoming the "clean" part of the shop as a casting and stabilizing area. Quite pleased with the result. Get a back on the one end, add a bit of electricity and an air drop and we will be good to go.

One pressure and one vacuum chamber are both set into the counter. Makes it much easier to load and unload.

Nice bit not convinced about the candelabra in the rear corner ?

I thought my shop had been built up over a while at 25 years , youre claiming 222 ?

Late 1800's, so only about 135 years +/- for the cottage part of the shop, which is where the casting area is. The cabinets the candelabra is sitting on are in an area that was originally the front porch. It was later enclosed as a part of the cottage.

It was built before the house, which was completed in 1893 and deeded in 1896. (Dr. Nelson Wilson House). There is another addition added at the west end of this that was obviously built for an early 1900's auto. I call it the model T addition. To the south of that addition is another add on for a larger car bay. Added sometime mid 1900's, which will be the dirty area, aka wood shop.

So you are good. There are still many English with furniture older than most of our historic buildings.
