Mine arrived a day or so ago, but I just had a chance to check em out in detail today. Beautiful wood! I have some Thuya pen blanks, but I didn't quite realize just the nature and density of this wood until I handled these blanks. Amazing wood...dense, but of a nature that turns well (pen blanks certainly do!)

I am curious, what is the scent on these? Is that spicy scent natural to the wood, or something else?

Thanks for the feedback! It is the natural scent of the wood. Thuya is a type of cedar, so it is naturally aromatic. But be careful, some woodworkers find the smell addicting . At least one person said they cut pieces in the shop just for the smell lol.

I never noticed it before from the pen blanks, but...I guess I usually turn those with a respirator on. Really love this wood though, its density and characteristic is wonderful.
