Not perfect by any means, but I learned a lot making it. Frosted Delrin and Ebonite. Cheap clip (had it on hand), less than perfect photography, but getting there.

They never are perfect, but you're well on the way. Looks like the nib section is not screwed all the way in. If its a Berea section, there is a little raised portion at the bottom of the threads. You need to ream or bore out the bottom piece just a little and it will seat properly. Otherwise nice job.

The cap is too long for the body and it doesn't seat quite right, but absolutely you are on the right path to success. The body and clip mesh together real nice as far as diameter goes, and the clip mount looks real good. I like the mix of materials too. I have no doubt you will be very good at making these.

The cap is too long for the body

I agree -- it looks a little top heavy. I'm thinking that if I eliminate the throat above the threads on the body, I can reduce the length of the cap by a good centimeter, but I don't know if the section right above the threads will be comfortable enough with the threads up against fingers. Unfortunately, I'm only working with a wood lathe, and getting all the measurements is a challenge for my yet-unskilled hands and old eyes.

It looks functional. That's a start. As I have been trying these I feel your pain with some of the details. I also learn a lot each time I attempt one of these. I wouldn't trade that feeling of accomplishment for anything. Keep up the great work.

Nice start, the things that you missed are minor and easy to correct, you've gotten a lot further up the trail than I have, I have made some clips, but that's it. so keep up the work, so far very good!!
