Eric,

First off, learn patience![:D] Seriously, a good pen deserves a good finish. However long it takes to turn the pen, spend more time sanding. However long it takes to sand, spend more time finishing. Frankly, I do not believe that the finishing process you describe will last long at all in regular use. There is a wealth of information on the site about finishing, whether you use CA, CA/BLO, Enduro, Unoxal, lacquer, or something else. Do some searches using the standard search tool, and spend some time reading and learning. It will be worth your while, or I will refund you the cost of my advice! [:D][;)]

As your 'addiction' inceases, you will graduate to 'alternate' (read, more durable finishes). Your current choice will wear out much, much quicker than say doing a CA finish. By the way, when I first started that is exactly the way I was finishing my early pen, just like you. Stick around and you will be exposed to many other finishing choices. RUSS FAIRFIELD our resident finishing guru here has many great finishing tips.

did some research think i need to spend more time on sanding and i am going to try Ca/BLo finnish do you think one day is long enough to wait to put the pen together

CA degasses for a few days, so do not put the pen in a box or you will get a frosted finish on your metal components. It definitely is a good idea to let the finish harden for at least a day before assembly.

That should be fine. I nearly always do mine the same day, and don't have problem.

Do yourself a favor and experiment with a cheap kit on the first couple. I promise they won't be as good as you'll eventually do. Try it, and if it isn't good enough, sand it off and start over. Do as many times as it takes. The videos and tutorials can help, but only practice and experimentation will get you where you're going.
