Finished this one up last night. Again as with the previous small one I have tried to keep the "worn" look to add to the aged patina. I've combined a couple of different materials this time, added a pressure gauge which obviously feature quite a bit in the genre and if you look closely some 1mm brass bolts at the side off the logo plaque.

Tried to get a little more mood in the pictures as well.

As always, thanks for looking, always appreciate your comments.

Until next time

LOVE IT....Reminds me of building brass HO steam engines....
The only thing a pen maker can recognize (when caped) is the center band.
LOVE the pressure gauge with your logo in it...
:):)GREAT JOB:):).

That's pretty cool. How long does it take you to put together one of those? It just snaps together like legos doesn't it?

Difficult to say how long. Most of them I make up as I go along. Only the one I made with the glass tubes was pre-designed. I would say anywhere from 5 to 15 hours by the time they are made, pickled and polished.

I start with lengths of brass and copper tube, rod, profiles and plumbing fittings etc and cut, trim, drill, bend and combine parts until I'm happy with it.

Simon, I am blown away once more.
Love the pen, in particular, the Gauge on the top of the clip.
Is it true that the Clip actually dispenses Cappuccino Coffee?
Nothing would surprise me anymore.
Congratulations, Yet Again.

May I ask what the material is on the red pieces?

Hi

The pieces come from a blank called red chip from my local suppliers - The Turners Retreat. Not sure what the actual material is but turns really nice. You do get quite a bit of variation in it. It has yellows, purples blues and occasionally green chips with a red background. I've posted pens previously made from it.
