I am wanting to make some pin-chucks that I found some pictures of. They use some type of flexible tubing (either Neoprene or Tygon) that is squeezed together from the ends to expand and squeeze the tubing, securing the pen tube. Picture below.

I am looking for some tubing that just fits inside of the pen tubes we use. I will take anything I can find as this is a proof of concept for me to find out if I can make it work. I have tried larger tubing and turning it smaller and it just wont turn well so I need it correctly sized.

Have any flexible tubing that fits my needs? Let me know what you want for it. I only need a few inches of each style of tubing. I can find it online, I just don't need 50ft of it!

Thanks!

Not sure why you are going this route when there are a lot of easier pin chuck styles out there to make.

The others cost more than what it will take to make on my own. I have all the materials except for the tubing.....

Besides, why buy something when you can make it.

That is what I meant when I said there are easier ones to make. I made all of my own with the locking pin style.

try looking for O'rings. they are available in almost limitless variety of sizes. seems to me 2 of those space out just a little would hold better and truer than 1 piece of rubber anyway.
just a thought.

Check your local RC hobby shop, nitro and or gas lines the fuel lines are one of the types of tubing that are very similar to the above they also have some that are more like silicon tubing, softer. Neoprene vacuum and fuel lines should be available at most auto repair shop Down to 1/16" ID.
Hope this helps

What size tubing do you need? I may have something I could send you, if you decide to use O-rings go to Hydraulic Service on Victory Blvd in P town. I use to manage the service dept & they have huge selection of metric & US size orings from almost invisible to 30+" in diameter.

I worked & lived in Portsmouth for 39 years.

hey Fred, churchland hardware right here behind the bank of america has a huge selection also. closer that hydraulic services and probably cheaper. Hydraulic services are all certified stuff for sale to the government and shipyards.
