I have had a bunch, and have given it all away as "boring to me"...so what do I get for a custom order????? Need to make a pair for a retiring BOAT BUILDER.........of course.

anybody got a couple full size blanks (3/4 x 5 or better) laying around? Pay, trade, whatever.

Thanks
Jon

I might have a couple blanks of "Brazialian Teak". Not sure if that will work for you. These are rather plane and really hard.

I can check when I get home and send you a pic this evening.

may be able to help.

I have some from Tuba, they were marked as "buried teak" and I have prerounded them to just under 3/4s. I'll double check that when I get home if you are interested.

May also have some Teak burl left if you think that'll be better.

You guys rock...knew there would be responses, but wow, QUICK!

Joe, looks great, if you have two, I'd love them.

Mike, curious about "buried teak"...cool effect/look?

Tim, I have always seen teak as plain...that's why I don't have any left! Appreciate the offer, but the burl and buried may take the prize!

Little late, but I have a 3/4" x 6" x 10' plank in my stock pile, for my Band Saw box supplies.. Could have cut a few peices ,thats a lot of 3/4" blanks.

The buried has no comparison to the burl.

with the resin content, nothing really penetrates far to change the wood. One side was slightly darker, but that's about it as far as I could tell. I'll shoot a pic of one later, but the burl is much better in my opinion.

Now IF I had the story of where/why it was buried.....that may be different, but Joel didn't share that with me if he knew.
