I have been having some problems with one piece of equipment that I have, plus it is not big enough to do everything that I would like for it to do. I have found a very good deal on an excellent upgrade.

Here is where I need a reality check. It doesn't matter how good the deal is....if you can't afford it doesn't matter how many hundreds of dollars it is cheaper.
See if even ministers struggle with wanting stuff or trying to rationalize.

It has been a tough week for me at the church too which doesn't help the situation. Sometimes it is just good vent and get it off your chest.

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,

Plenty of affirmations in Proverbs about wisdom versus foolishness. Gotta go with Lee on this - God provides in His time. I like Dave Ramsey's perspective: "We use money we don't have, to buy things we don't need, to impress people we don't know!"

PS - It doesn't help to pray this: "Lord, give me patience, and give it to me NOW!!!!"

Just a Layman

It's always been my experience that G-d will provide when it is time.

Lee

I agree Lee...if it is meant to be and it is still available at that price, I will be able to get it. Patience is a tough virtue. Thanks for your words of wisdom.

I am just a layman (I do deliver the sermon now and then) but here is what I preach....Mathew 6:25-34. The short explaination is "The Lord Provides" Don't spend 5 minutes worrying about where anything is going to come from...Don't plan too far ahead because tomorrow may never be yours...What God gives you in this life...use.

I have absolute and unwavering faith that God will provide what I need and so far He has proven my faith to be well placed.

It's worked for me, including raising and putting 5 1/2 kids through college (We had 6 kids but one dropped out of college after 2 years) and paying for three weddings. And we always had more than we needed.

Thanks for clearing that up.. otherwise we'd really wonder how a 1/2 kid made it to college :)

Dan - The vortex is rough no matter what profession... The toys/tools are so tempting. Good luck with your decision.
